Steps for Pets 5K was made possible by the support of several wonderful sponsors, including Fur Baby Barn, a local facility that offers doggie day care, pet spa services and boarding for dogs and cats.

Fur Baby Barn, located in a quiet Medina setting, is owned and operated by life-long animal lovers with 35+ years of experience in animal care, including certifications in Animal First Aid and CPR. The facility offers separate spaces for big and small dogs and specializes in handling senior pets and those with special needs.

Dogs new to the day care program may take advantage of a free Assessment Day of up to 4 hours to ensure the dog is comfortable, and boarding discounts include special offers for foster and rescue dogs, military personnel, and seniors – both pets and people!

Monticello Pet Academy also joined us for Steps for Pets 5K at Sturges Park, presenting their wide array of services, which include training classes to take people and their pooches from puppyhood through competition. The training school offers opportunities for owners to build strong teams with their dogs, master everyday obedience basics, as well as, learn fun activities to keep their canines busy with classes like agility and trick training.

Private lessons are also available for those of all age and training levels who would like to concentrate on a specific issue or skill.

Students who develop an interest in the world of competitive canine sports may be interested in the Dog Addicts group, which includes teams involved in Agility, Dock Diving, Fast Cat, Hunt Tests, Rally, Obedience, Scent Work, and Therapy Dog Work.
